Youth Group – Church of the Rock offers our teens an opportunity to fellowship with one another and study the Word of God every Wednesday from 5:30 – 7:30 here at COTR. A typical evening with our youth includes some informal socializing or group activity and food, followed by a time of teaching and discussion on Biblical Truth. We believe this ministry to be crucial in assisting and encouraging our children to live their lives by the standards God has set forth through His Word. Our children are faced with challenges every day. We trust the Word of God provides them with the armor they need to face a spiritually dark world.
“Raise a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it. ”Proverbs 22:6

Couples Mentoring – In 2002, we began to see a need for pre-marriage counseling. At that time there were a number of young unmarried couples within our fellowship who were getting engaged. While our part-time pastors met with them to plan out their weddings, there was seen a need for a more comprehensive marriage preparation curriculum.
A husband and wife team stepped up offering to take the lead and the Church of the Rock Couples mentoring ministry was born. That husband and wife team sought training and recruited a number of other “mature” couples to get trained up as well. While each mentoring couple may use different strategies from their training to help prepare the prospective bride and groom, all mentors utilize the FOCUS Marriage Ministries resources.
Mentoring usually begins about six months out from the scheduled wedding and the number of sessions will vary upon availability and time. Sessions will center around seeking God’s will for marriage and exploring the roles of a Chrisitan husband and wife. There will also be less formal sessions where the two couples can take the time to develop a bonding relationship.
Since 2002, our mentors have prepared dozens of engaged couples for marriage and have often continued mentoring after the wedding. Our Mentoring Ministry is a strong statement of the COTR’s support and commitment to God’s plan for life.
