Missions
Askewville, North Carolina

On October 12, 2011, the COTR missions team departed Poland and headed to Askewville, NC where they assisted in the clean-up and construction of the communities hit hard by both tornadoes in April and Hurrican Irene.

Nineteen individuals of "the Rock's" congregation spent part of four days working with local organizaitons as well as the international organization Samaritan's Purse to come alongside victims of the storms.

COTR also sponsored a BBQ at a local church where Pastor Reid Lamport gave a short message and members had the opportunity to pray with many of the victims.

COTR gave a monetary donation to a local church to help with purchasing f urniture for an elderly woman in the Askewville area and another donation to Samaritan's Purse. Members of the church also participated in a backpack give-away/ collection  to provide much needed school supplies to Askewville area kids  from kindergarten through high school, dropping off the bags in late August so they would be available when the 2011-12 school year began.

For I was hungry,  and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.
